Main challenge

Complex science, several audiences and one site to serve them.

The site had to work for scientists and for business readers, stay fast with heavy scientific imagery, and let the marketing team publish without waiting for developers.

  • Complex Scientific Content

Advanced biotechnology services had to read clearly for scientists and business decision-makers.

  • Flexible Page Building

Pages built from custom blocks, with freedom in layout and a consistent design.

  • Linked Scientific Articles

Articles published, categorised and linked to each other in a way that makes sense to readers.

  • Speed With Rich Media

Scientific imagery and interactive elements without slow pages or poor Core Web Vitals.

Project approach

From content audit to a custom design system.

We started with stakeholder interviews and a content audit, benchmarked competitor websites, and designed the information architecture and sitemap. The design became a custom component library in Figma, and we chose Next.js and React for the frontend with Strapi as the CMS.

Agile execution

We worked in weekly sprints, with video updates or calls with the client every week. The client saw progress throughout and could change requirements as the project moved forward.

How we solved it

A block-based site the marketing team controls.

Every page is built from custom blocks in Strapi, so the marketing team creates new pages and publishes scientific articles on its own while the design stays consistent. The site runs on AWS Amplify, RDS and Elastic Beanstalk.

Key features

What the team works with every day.

  • Block-Based Page Builder

Custom content blocks for building new pages inside the design system.

  • Site Search

Built-in search, so visitors find services and articles quickly.

  • SEO Metadata

Titles, descriptions and metadata managed for every page in Strapi.

  • Scientific Articles

Publishing with categories, tags and links between related articles.

  • Image Pipeline

Automatic WebP conversion and lazy loading keep image-heavy pages fast.

  • Analytics

An analytics integration that shows how visitors use the site.

The site is served through a global CDN on AWS, deploys through an automated pipeline, and has automated backups and disaster recovery.

Business impact

Fast pages, strong SEO and a team that publishes on its own.

High PageSpeed Scores

1 Week to Independent Publishing
